Belva Brown
Executive Assistant and Friend of Kalorama
In Memoriam
Belva graduated in 1971 from Bowling Green Senior High School in Bowling Green, Virginia. Belva moved to Washington, D.C. with her Great-Aunt Robinette Lee. She began her career at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, LLP in Washington, D.C. as a Legal Secretary from March 1982 until December 2005. Belva spent many years working for several attorneys and then began supporting Mr. Harvey L. Pitt. She furthered her career with Mr. Pitt at his consulting firm, Kalorama Partners, LLC, as Executive/Administrative Assistant from January 2006 until her retirement in September 2020.
Belva loved life, family, laughing, and food. She particularly enjoyed baking. She loved dining and staying at 5-star hotels and restaurants. Her favorite place was New Orleans, Louisiana, known for its famous cuisine. She loved decorating and searching online for the beautiful mansion that she would purchase when she became a millionaire. She was an avid reader from mystery to romance novels. She loved music, especially when entertaining and being with her friends. Belva was baptized at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Sparta, Virginia, and was a member of Victory Christian Ministries International (VCMI) in Suitland, MD. She served on the Covenant Connector Ministry and served as an usher. She had several favorite scriptures, and she read scriptures to begin each day.
Quick to smile and a friend to all, Belva will be deeply and truly missed by all her friends at the Kalorama Family. An unfailing optimist, Belva's laughter and memory will continue to echo in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to have known her.
